Do you believe in resolutions?

Hello Reader

I hope you’re doing well today.
How are you feeling as the year settles in?

Today, I want to talk about resolutions.
And my slightly complicated relationship with them.

Until last year, I always made a list.
Every year.
Things I wanted to do. Things I wanted to achieve.

I never completed the list fully.
But I did manage to tick off a few things every single year.

This year feels different.

I’ve been a bit cold towards resolutions.
I don’t know why exactly.
Perhaps because the end of the year was anything but slow.

Even through Christmas and New Year, I was working.
Bengaluru Prayana was busy.
We were hosting people who were on holiday and taking them on private walks.

There was no pause.
No clean break to sit down and reflect.

And yet, I still believe there is value in writing things down.

A list may not guarantee achievement.
But it keeps you in check.
It reminds you of what matters when days get busy and weeks blur.

These days, I prefer something simple.
A short list.
Clear goals.
A due date is next to each one.

And I stick it where I can see it every day.
On my work desk.

Not as pressure.
Just as a reminder.

What about you?
Do you believe in creating resolutions, or have you found another way to stay aligned with what you want?

Cheers,
Raksha

Safe travels,

Raksha

Hello Reader, I hope you’re doing well today. How has the week been so far? Today, I want to share a simple rule I follow while travelling. If something feels off, I don’t explain it away. I don’t argue with my instincts.I don’t wait for proof. This has nothing to do with fear.It has everything to do with awareness. Most travel advice talks about courage.Minimal talks about judgment. I’ve learnt that good travel decisions are often quiet ones.Leaving early.Changing plans.Choosing rest over...

Hello Reader, I hope you’ve had a calm start to the week. How are you feeling today? Today, I want to talk about stories that only appear when I walk. Some stories don’t live in books or buildings. They live in movement. They exist in transitions. In what ways do one place connect to another? I encounter these stories only when I walk slowly. When I notice a sequence. What comes before. What follows. Walking also shows me absence. What is missing? What was removed? These stories are not neat. That is...

People walk on a street decorated with flower carpets.

Hello Reader, I hope your week has started gently. How are things with you? Today, I want to share the first thing I notice when I arrive in a new place. It’s not landmarks. It’s not food. I watch how people move. How fast they walk.Where they pause.Who owns the space without saying so? This tells me more than guidebooks ever can.It speaks to power, comfort, and rhythm. Once I understand movement, everything else makes sense.Noise.Silence.Boundaries. This habit helps me settle faster in...
