One travel habit I gave up

Dear Reader,

I hope you had a good weekend.
How are you feeling today?

Today, I want to talk about something I stopped doing while travelling.
I stopped over-planning.

I still research.
But I no longer plan every hour.

Earlier, I wanted efficiency.
Now, I want a margin.

Margin is what lets you say yes to an unexpected detour.
Or sit longer at a place that feels right.
Or leave early when something feels off.

Some of my best travel memories came from unplanned gaps.
Not from perfect itineraries.

Now, I plan less on paper.
And pay more attention to the ground.

It has changed how present I feel while travelling.

Do you prefer tight plans or space to adjust once you arrive?

Safe Travels,
Raksha

Safe travels,

Raksha

Hello Reader, I hope you’re doing well today. How has the week been so far? Today, I want to share a simple rule I follow while travelling. If something feels off, I don’t explain it away. I don’t argue with my instincts.I don’t wait for proof. This has nothing to do with fear.It has everything to do with awareness. Most travel advice talks about courage.Minimal talks about judgment. I’ve learnt that good travel decisions are often quiet ones.Leaving early.Changing plans.Choosing rest over...

Hello Reader, I hope you’ve had a calm start to the week. How are you feeling today? Today, I want to talk about stories that only appear when I walk. Some stories don’t live in books or buildings. They live in movement. They exist in transitions. In what ways do one place connect to another? I encounter these stories only when I walk slowly. When I notice a sequence. What comes before. What follows. Walking also shows me absence. What is missing? What was removed? These stories are not neat. That is...

People walk on a street decorated with flower carpets.

Hello Reader, I hope your week has started gently. How are things with you? Today, I want to share the first thing I notice when I arrive in a new place. It’s not landmarks. It’s not food. I watch how people move. How fast they walk.Where they pause.Who owns the space without saying so? This tells me more than guidebooks ever can.It speaks to power, comfort, and rhythm. Once I understand movement, everything else makes sense.Noise.Silence.Boundaries. This habit helps me settle faster in...
